An obvious excursion destination with a historical touch is the unique Mont Saint-Michel, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It takes a short drive, but then you have a great day out to this unique rock in the sea with its monastery, church and village. Le Mont Saint-Michel lies in the sea and is surrounded daily by the rising tide, sometimes up to 14 meters difference between high and low tide.
