Things to do in while camping in Sweden

As we mentioned before, a camping holiday in Sweden is all about freedom. Your long summer days will be filled with opportunities to venture into the heart of nature and experience a variety of outdoor activities.

You are likely to encounter more lakes than people in Sweden, so you’ll have no trouble partaking in some water sports. From water skiing and stand up paddle boarding to fishing and sailing, it’s all possible here. Woodland is as common as the lakes are, so a whole playground of nature trails, hikes and biking circuits are available. Pack a picnic and head to the forest of pines, birches and spruces for a fun-filled day out or a peaceful amble.

It's recommended to travel by car or motorhome in this vast Nordic country, and having a vehicle at your disposal affords you the chance to take a day trips further afield.

The capital Stockholm lies to the east and is a vibrant, hip city with plenty of attractions. We recommend a visit to the Vasa Museum, home to the Vasa ship that sank on its maiden voyage in 1628. It was salvaged in 1961 and is now on display at the museum. While in the capital, be sure to check out the cool old town Gamla Stan, City Hall and the Fairytale Drottningholm Palace.

Spend a day in Sweden’s second city, Gothenburg, which is home to the terrific Liseberg amusement park, the Volvo museum, Slottsskogen Park and Universeum, a massive science centre with rainforest zone. Malmo contrasts old and new with ease, with notable attractions here being Malmo Castle, the Turning Torso and the Øresund Bridge that links to Denmark.

So why wait, book a camping holiday in Sweden to enjoy unrivalled nature and amazing cities.
