In the Vendée and Loire-Atlantique, there are numerous beaches and lively coastal resorts where having fun in the Atlantic Ocean is the order of the day. Bring a bucket and spade for sandcastle building competitions, snorkels for fish spotting and a wetsuit for a day spent enjoying enthralling water sports.
Away from the coast, the inner region is home to the famous Loire Valley.
