Camping La Canadienne

Fancy diving into the water? At Camping La Canadienne the pool is a real eye-catcher. In fact, it is designed like a ship! While the kids have their own adventures in the separate children's pool, you can enjoy the heated water or relax on a lounger under the French sun.

But the real water adventure awaits just outside the campsite! Just 3.5 kilometers away are the beaches of Saint-Brice, a quiet spot with shallow water and surrounded by pine forests. A little further away is Plage Pereire in Arcachon, ideal for families with children thanks to its calm waters. And for those who fancy a sporting challenge, there is Plage du Grand Crohot, a great place to learn to surf. Want to discover the Bassin d'Arcachon in a different way? Then rent a kayak or go on a boat trip and admire the coast from the water.

At this campsite, it's all about friendliness and fun! During the day children can have fun at the children's club, where they can do crafts, play detective and dance together to cheerful music. Sports enthusiasts can have fun on the multi-sports field, where a game of soccer or petanque is regularly played. Prefer something quieter? Get on your bike and explore the area via the beautiful bike paths that wind along forests and beaches.

In the evenings, the campsite really comes alive. Karaoke nights, live music and themed dinners create a fun atmosphere that the whole family enjoys. And what's a holiday without good food? At the campground restaurant, feast on crispy pizzas, fresh salads and juicy burgers. Or pick up a meal and eat on your own terrace as the sun slowly sets.

A vacation at the Bassin d'Arcachon is not complete without a visit to the impressive Dune du Pilat. This highest sand dune in Europe treats you to breathtaking views of the ocean and inland lake. It's a bit of a climb, but the reward is a panoramic view you won't soon forget!

In addition, there are charming fishing villages such as L'Herbe and Le Canon, where colourful wooden houses and cosy oyster bars provide a typical French atmosphere. Highly recommended is a boat trip to the Île aux Oiseaux (Birds' Island), where you can admire the famous houses on stilts - the 'cabanes tchanquées'.
