Presentation of camping Château du Gibanel

Situated in the estate of a stunning 13th century castle, 4* Campsite Château du Gibanel welcomes holidaymakers to a destination where reconnecting with nature is easy. This lovely resort, nested in the heart of Périgord by the meandering flow of the Dordogne, is packed with fantastic outdoor facilities and is a wonderful choice for a camping break in Correze.

The connected pools of the swimming complex are aesthetically pleasing, and feature two pools; a low depth paddling pool for children that spills into the adjoining main pool. The vistas around the campsite from the swimming pool are simply stunning, so guests can laze on a sun lounger while appreciating the beauty of the shimmering lake, tree lined hills and of course, the majestic château.

Volleyball, handball, table tennis and basketball make up the sports offering at the campsite, while kayaking, pedalo boating and stand-up paddle boarding are some of the aquatic activities to enjoy on the lake. In the immediate area around the resort, families can embark on highly enjoyable cycling, walking or hiking trips.

The best way to describe the Kid’s Club at Château du Gibanel is that it is exciting, educational and inclusive, and invites children to enjoy a range of fun activities such as arts & crafts, treasure hunts, sports competitions and much more. Dancing, theme parties and live musical performances are typically featured in the vibrant evening entertainment for families who go camping at this excellent site.

Open between 01/07 and 30/09, the restaurant at the resort provides tasty meals, snacks and drinks, in a relaxed environment that features both an outdoor terrace area and a pleasant interior dining room. As well as making use of the restaurant’s takeaway service, holidaymakers have the option to shop in the onsite grocery store where they can buy daily essentials, fresh bread & pastries, as well as local produce.

With the aim of helping you embrace nature, the camping accommodation options at the site are nestled in peaceful, private and abundantly green emplacements, and feature spacious and bright living areas. Savour the freedom of an outdoor escape while enjoying all the comforts of a hotel.

Around Château du Gibanel Campsite

There are numerous outdoor activities to enjoy while camping at Château du Gibanel, as the campsite occupies an enviable location on the heart of Périgord. Walking and hiking trips will take you through enchanting woodland, rolling meadows and plunging valleys, while the regions lakes and rivers are perfect for a variety of water sports.

A traditional town with well-preserved architecture and charming streets, Argentat-sur-Dordogne is the nearest town to the campsite and perches itself on the bends of the Dordogne. Campers who visit the town will find a good selection of shops and restaurants.

Rocamodour, one of the region’s most visited towns, is accessible from the campsite for holidaymakers who have a car. A day trip to the town should include a visit to the monkey park and the Sanctuaire Notre-Dame de Rocamadour.

The subterranean wonders of the Lascaux caves and Padirac Cave, the medieval town of Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne and the scenic trails of Collonges-la-Rouge are just a few of the other fantastic things to see while holidaying at the campsite.
