Things to do when camping in Costa Brava

There is fierce competition between the Costa’s that occupy the coastline of the Mediterranean Sea, with Costa Blanca and Costa Dorada staking their claim as the best places to take a holiday Spain. For us, Costa Brava has a diverse offering of lively tourist resorts and untouched seaside towns and villages. All in all, there’s so much to do here.

The town of L’Estartit provides a gateway to the Medes, a rocky group of islands boasting magical marine life that is best explored by taking a snorkelling or diving trip. The inviting town of Figueres draws visitors in search of the Dalí Theatre-Museum, who often stay longer to explore the town’s castles, churches and toy museum.

Wander and wonder in the enchanting city of Girona, the capital of the region and home to a stunning cathedral, Arab Baths and spectacular vistas from the city walls.

The bays and beaches around the fishing village of Tamariu are some of the region’s best. Seek out the golden sands at Platja de Tamariu, Platja Dels Liris, and Playa Cala Aiguablava, or take a sea kayaking trip to the Cueva de En Gispert caves.

There are numerous water sports providers in the area, so you’ll be able to all manners of wet and wild activities including jet skiing, paragliding, surfing, Scuba, paddle boarding and boating. On dry land, the coast hugging hiking trails of Cap de Creus are great for long days in the midst of nature, while Banyoles Lake offers well-shaded walks.

No sun-soaked camping holiday in Costa Brava with the kids would be complete without a visit to a water park. There are many in the region, with the most popular being Water World, Aqua Brava and Aquadiver.
